Gefell microphones have one of the finest pedigrees in microphone transducer
design and manufacturing. Founded 75 years ago by Mr. Georg Neumann
and his technical director, Mr. Kuehnast, the company was on the eastern
side of the Berlin wall in the town of Gefell, Germany. Since reunification,
Gefell microphones have become recognized as a leader in transducer
technology.
Whether an accurate and uncolored or euphonic sound is desired, Gefell
microphones offer a wide range of tube and solid-state models to choose
from. Legendary studio microphones such as the U47 and U67 used the
M7 capsule which is still produced and used exclusively in select Gefell
