Tidepool Audio is proud to present the CMD 42, the new digital microphone amplifier from Schoeps. It transfers the signal from the modular MK microphone capsule directly into the digital domain. Just like theSuperCMIT, the CMD 42 uses the AES42 interface. A selection of currently compatible devices can be found in the download area at schoeps.de.

The CMD 42 is not intended to replace analog microphones, but is intended for applications in which this massive list of special features lead to noticeable added value.

Immunity to interference: digital output and therefore no interference on the microphone cable

Dynamics: no more analog modulation necessary - the full microphone dynamic range is transferred to digital

High Resolution: Sample rates up to 192 kHz and extended frequency responses of the microphone capsule up to over 40 kHz ('xt' functionality)

Unrivaled low noise floor in the ultrasonic range, particularly suitable for down-pitching in sound design
